I’ve looked around and can’t find an answer to this, including 4 different Detroit dealers, but I’d like to know if anyone has first hand experience with oil pan thread in oil heaters. Good, bad??
    Thanks

We use Zerostart oil pan heaters, model 8609713.

Little problems with it for the cold prepped trucks.

Thanks. I tried to respond to this yesterday but it didn’t post for some reason.
Anyhow, do you leave it on all night like a block heater or use a timer/plug it in a few hours early?

We use a timer on the oil heater, it is tied to the coolant heater and only works for the last two hours of the coolant heater. The coolant heater draws 1200 watts, the oil 450.
