This should be simple, but especially the second oil leak makes me wonder if it is...

The picture shows my steering box and the arrows indicate where I have oil leaks. What does it take to fix these 2 oil leaks? Is it correct that the top one is a simple as a seal? What about the lower one?

    Ideas, any tips?

well yes top is easy but other will require removal of pittman arm shaft.you can buy a seal kit but there are alot of parts in there.if you do this give yourself plenty of time.a mech friend did mine i watched and was amazed how many pieces came out of box.

Looks like a shepherd steering box you can buy the seal kit pretty cheap not realy for the faint to working steering boxes I've gone through a few and I don't much care for it I get to nervouse with steering the inputshaft seals are pretty simple if it is a shepherd there will be two seals on the input shaft but I belive to do the sectorshaft seal you have to pull the box apart been a few years since I did one maybe someone else can chime in might be best to leave it to a shop the rebuilds them or buy a renamed box and put it on yourself

Yes, replace the box. I know some will argue here, but most times they leak because the housing or shaft is also worn with a groove so a new seal doesn't always fix it. By the time you spend removing it to install new seals you might as well just replace it and get a warranty with it!

Unless you just washed it, just leave it and put some heavier fluid with seal conditioner in until the leak gets really bad. The leaks don't look that bad just yet.

Replace the box and have a warranty for the future.
