I have an 870 cummins isx. I have a little oil in the coolant. The oil looks fine. What is the cost to get a new oil cooler put on? Im going to get it fixed as soon as I line up a shop.

Mine was 4,000 at a Cummins Shop... Sent you a PM
77fib77 Thanks this. -
Get an oil sample asap!!! Have it sent to a lab. Petro TA have the kits and can do it for u and send it out. Probably will have to pull the head and have it pressure tested. Coolant in the oil is really bad.
Depends where the leak is. Could be the head or another component.77fib77 Thanks this. -
@MOGLAR He said oil in the coolant, which more than likely is just the oil cooler. I haven't had the misfortune of having to do a cooler on any of my ISX's yet but $4,000 seems awfully steep compared to Cat's that I have done.
Oxbow, 77fib77 and Pnwtrucker Thank this. -
I did one several years ago I wanna say it was 2700 out the door including complete clean and flush of coolant system. If I remember correctly

I asked where I'm parked he told me 2500 on one 5 years ago.

You think I could put oil leak sealant in the crankcase as a solution? I don't think it would work myself, but I'm sitting here what could be cheaper than 2500 dollars.....?????? What fails on the cooler? a weld?

I've only had one cooler go bad. It was on a cat. Within 2 days it went from slight to catastrophic. O-Ring
