I have always been a believer in oil filtration. Oil can get dirty with contaminants really quick and filters have a tough job do so adding a bypass filtration system is a good investment in my opinion. I consider them to be cheap insurance.

OPS is popular by pass oil filter also. It has heater to keep evaporate water in oil and spot to get the oil sample out.

The Cummins thing is not the same. It bypasses the filter if it gets full, clogged up, so you’ll have unfiltered oil damaging your engine.
The other systems take a small amount of oil after the factory filter and filter it slower and finer.
