Having researched some oil bypass systems I have come to find that the Cummins engines with the LF14000N oil filters have a oil bypass filter built in. Any reason to add another one?

OPS is popular by pass oil filter also. It has heater to keep evaporate water in oil and spot to get the oil sample out.

I use the Amsoil. 1 gallon spin on filters. $400 for the kit.
4wayflashers, 77fib77 and GYPSY65 Thank this. -
The Cummins thing is not the same. It bypasses the filter if it gets full, clogged up, so you’ll have unfiltered oil damaging your engine.
The other systems take a small amount of oil after the factory filter and filter it slower and finer.Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
My volvo d12 has a true bypass filter built in.. 3 filters, 2 standard and 1 much finer with a flow restriction
