Odometer quit, but speedometer still working????

pen and paper?? mine did the same thing a while back. bought a new speedo gauge.

 

Buy a new one. Mine quit last year and the way I noticed it at first was the odometer and trip meter conflicted, then trip meter quit then they both quit. They are pricey though, $500+ if I recall right. After putting in the new one, it turns out the speedometer was off some as well...the new one matched up with the GPS, where the old one was 1-2 mph off at times.

Shortly after I put in the new one, I had to have the computer hooked up to the truck to find a fault code. I had the guy pull up the trucks info and it turns out the old (and what I thought were the miles) odometer was off by almost 3,000 miles.

 

Mine was off by around 3,000 miles when I bought mine compared to what the ecm said for miles.

The odometer in mine just quit too. Have asked around & everyone says what the guys above mentioned with it being the gauge at fault. New at Pete is around $500. Noticed a few like at four state trucks for $200-$300 w/o the Pete logo. Anyone have any issues with these?

I guess I'm a ######### and just figured it was a proprietary thing and went straight to the teet. Either way, it works fine with new speedo.

Anyone ever add a gauge or two? How hard is it to install say...an outside temp gauge?

If it's a 2021, it's still under warranty. Just take it to a dealership and let them deal with it.
