When A company requires you to have occupational insurance, what exactly is that? I asked Progressive and they were not sure what the said company was referring too. They know Liability, Comprehensive, Collision, Bobtail. Anyone know what the said company could be referring too? Is it for Workers Comp type, but what would it be called?

It's not Workmans Comp, not even close, it satisfies the , having insurance requirements. Read the policy, if you are lucky, they will pay the medical, they pay $ 350.00 a week. Not sure about any thing if you are permanently disabled. W C is much more expensive, however it has better coverage.

It is basically workers comp if you are a contractor 1099 Some companies require you to have it so you don't sue them if you get hurt.

Join OOIDA and tell them you need Occupational Accident insurance. They were the cheapest I found for it. It’s not as good as work comp insurance but it’s good enough if something bad happens.

Critical care insurance is a waste of money until you fall off a deck. OP should get detailed information from insurance rep so he can make a well informed decision

You can get what they call a Workers Comp "Ghost policy" for around $1000.00 a year. It doesn't provide any coverage since you are the only employee but some companies require it. Also AFLAC has a type of occupational insurance as does most insurance companies.
