I have run Double Coin on my step deck (255/22.5). For the most part I like the way they wear. It is a hard tire and wears well as long as you don't put flat spots on them. I once had a new set on my trailer with a heavy load. At a shipper I had to make a hard turn around which put flat spots on 4 of my new tires. Once they get flat spots on them the wear escalates considerably. I have had other brands and done well with them, but I still like the Double Coins. My local tire distributor has had some difficulty getting them in and I haven't had anyone beat their prices. If you have a dump valve on the trailer it will help the wear.

I don't have experience with double coin, but aeolus from Love's are pretty good. I have 8 on my trailer with 80 000 miles, looks like new. I am now planing to buy steers and drives for the tractor. I had hi end Bridgeston tires on the steers and they are very hard to balance after 80 000 miles.

I should know. I spent decades importing stuff from there, working with hundreds of different factories in a variety of products. There are SOME factories in China that seem to "get it" when it comes to quality and will invest in state of the art equipment and training. They are few and far between. -
i've run double coin also double stars on my steers and have had excellent miles on them,i used to run all michilens but they got way to
expensive.i actually prefer them over goodyears

If all tires cost the same I would only run on Michelin.
Double Coin and Aeolus have been good to me.
An O/O working from our terminal says the Aeolus he put on his truck once the factory fitted Michelins wore out are lasting better.
Only issue to be wary of is that they have a hard compound.
If doing a lot of off road of if you do harsh turns they do chip.
If OTR and you drive like a human then they have no such issues. -
The main reason that I started running Double Coin and other brands is the cost. I can't see paying $500-600 for Michelin or other domestically made tires when I can purchase another brand for half the price. I have not seen much difference in the wear. My distributor has stood behind Double Coin, as have Love's when I have had a problem. Goodyear and some of the other domestic brands have not stood behind their products for me. I have not owned a Goodyear tire in 15 years due to them not standing behind their product. At one time Goodyear was my brand of choice. No more. I would prefer buying domestically produced tires, but when I can buy for half the price elsewhere, there is no reason to buy the domestic tires. Even with a national account discount, I can still buy the imports for less.

Since Love's stopped carring DC and went to Aeolus I've been a big fan of the latter....HOWEVER, I wouldn't recommend them as a steer tire. The compound just isn't right for the weight on the drives. I wore a set out in 3 months, well they wore funny over the three months and I had to take them off. One is still on the trailer and the other never lived another day after coming off.

I think that I put a couple of the Aeolus on from Love's a few months ago. So for, so good. My distributor has been having a little difficulty finding Double Coin tires. -
