I saw a Cummins NTC-400 for sale, looks new. No idea on mileage but it looks like the military pulled it out and never used it. Maybe 33k to 50k miles. If I get it for $1,000 is it a good deal or bad? I have a 2002 Volvo with no engine. I know it will fit, good project my son can finish for me for some extra $$$ in his pocket. I know its old but I heard it still can pull decent MPG and is a great hauler. So any thoughts?

NTC cummins is a good engine, we had 13 belly dump trucks 11 had NTC cummins 350 and 400 horse power they were bullett proof, the other two were 3406 cats they were ok as well but cost alot more to maintain.. NTC cummins is a good engine, as are any cummins..
