This is not a Trucking Company, but MANY flatbed and covered wagon companies pick up and deliver to this facility. What a nightmare. Within the last 3 months I have been held up for pick up anywhere from 10 - 36 hours on three separate occasions due to computer foul ups. I have recently been turned away from the remelt dock three times after un-securing the load for a paperwork error on Novelis' end. Thank GOD I work for a great company who paid me nicely for all of these delays, but, I am a driver and want to be rolling ASAP. Not sit on a load of scrap for over a week. It also causes problems for my company not having my truck available for other customers. So, if you are dispatched to this facility, it is a crap shoot whether you will be in and out of there quickly or held in the "bull pen" for hours if not days! When you arrive there on the scale, I would advise you to ask the guard what the wait time is for your pick up or drop off. That way you can plan out your trip, sleep time, ect. Cause if you miss that call on the CB while waiting you get bumped to the back of the line. They will not come out to get you. Just an FYI for drivers headed to this nightmare facility.
(P.S. - the company who takes good care of it's drivers on all occasions like this or other problems that arise is HOGE MOTOR COMPANY....just sayin....:biggrin_25525: )

I only went there when i was working for rist, they haul alot of scrap in their van trailers. I believe i've taken cubes of cans out to novelis. Wasnt bad on that side of operations. Then again i was the only truck needed to go into that particular dock at the time lol. A little pain having to pull off and take the test before you go through the gate but im guessing thats something that alot of industrial places require.
