North of I80 in Wyoming got hit harder then the rest. With this storm that just pass not a good idea to be on the back highways. The more north you go in Wyoming the less they like to plow also especially at night. I25 is completely closed to Casper wy right now so it’s real messed up.

Speaking only for my home state of Nebraska and having worked for the Nebraska dept of roads I can tell you that 80 and 76 get 1st priority, us routes 2nd and state routes last .
After dark out there you will be on your own .GYPSY65, IH Truck Guy, fordconvert and 1 other person Thank this. -
Thank you guys ! I stay where i am
The Crossword Trucker and bzinger Thank this. -
Yes that route is truck friendly... But WY 28 (Lander to Kemmerer) is currently snowed in and closed. Other portions of it are closed also, however I am betting it will open long before I-80 opens.
I will be taking some of that route myself, but will be staying on US26 all the way to Idahofalls, ID. I have been running US26 all winter to avoid 80 when ever possible.D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
I'd say US-83/US-34/I-76/I-70/US-6 except WB I-70 is closed in Western Colorado at exit 62 for a Hazmat spill at this time. Google Maps traffic shows it as green the whole way and COTrip doesn't show any chain restrictions over Eisenhower and Vail. Maybe check tomorrow morning to see if I-70 is reopened? Might be better than trying to make it through Wyoming if the highway is even open.
