Is this grill too big for, say a Peterbilt 579 or Freightliner Cascadia? It measures a foot tall, something like 15" wide, and is about 18" deep. Seems a little big for single servings. If I can tuck it away in one of the storage compartments, it's fine. I can get one for $159 right now. I can eat grilled steak, fish, chicken, or pork every night.

I wonder if there are smaller alternatives.

Why not? Wrap the excess for tomorrow or the next day.

I plan on measuring my daily portions before hand. If I wind up hating trucking, at least two things good will come out of it: after a year, I will be skinnier and in better physical shape. I figure 1800 calories/day and exercise will do the trick.

I am running about a thousand per day on very little activity and still maintain weight. However in winter combined with lumping reefer loads to and from the floor twice daily I would require about 8000 calories and not gain anything some days.

Heat the food at home, put it in a cooler, nuke it at truck stops. How many watts does something like that use? It will be listed near where the power cord attaches to the device. It will either list watts or it will show voltage and amps. A watt is volts multiplied by amps. I suspect it will pull over 1,000 watts and will run many minutes. That means you need a big inverter.

Cook at home, put it in a cooler, nuke it at free truck stop microwaves.

You sound like me. You want to know and plan for every detail. This will have you showing up to the truck with enough stuff to settle a new continent. Maybe see the inside of a company truck before you start buying stuff for it.

We tried using an airfryer. It used to many watts. I just precook everything and use my food saver to reseal my meals. Then use a hot logic to reheat meals. Throw it in the morning ready for lunch. After lunch throw in dinner. Ready when I stop.

Food cannot be "Fried" with air. That has to be a marketing gimmick. It's a $20 toaster oven with fans LOL..
