    Hi guys

I am new to the forum and have been doing some reading last couple days. Apparently my.Haney is a god of high HP cat engines. Just had some questions. I'm trying to figure out some upgrades i can do to make some more power out of my 3406e 5ek8991 engine number. Plate says adv 500. On it. What I was told it is a 475 turned up to 500 by cat. Now I'm looking at getting into a bigger turbo and manifold since mine have seen better days would also like to do a tune as well. So my question is what is a good setup that I can do that will give me some power. And also is thier anything else I should do when I do these upgrades. All advice is appreciated.

    Thanks

they don't allow performance discussion on this forum any more. Check out www. thedieselgarage.com. you can find Mr. Haney on the heavy truck forum.

You can discuss performance. It's the deletes and by passing EGR's etc that is a no no. And yes, the "other" site has more 411 on what the OP wants to discuss.
On a 5Ek series, your limited to certain amount of HP due the weaker block. I myself have a 5EK block and am running a 1LW series 550 Brakesaver file on 58 injectors and stage 1 B/W turbo. I'm averaging 7.0 mpg. This set up works for me, and I run locally. 65/-19 on the fls/fts. I'm pretty much max out with set up due to California emissions. (Thank you CARB).

I have a 5ek, stock 550 turbo, 58 injectors, 5235 codes, 62/-19, fuel pressure is bumped up amlittle, 105 at 1500. Ran for first time on dyno yesterday and it put 665 to the ground. Never runs over 950 egt. I've been very happy with it set that way, hauling grain local at 950 average 4.9mpg.

So I ended up dropping a liner a week after posting this .so now it's in the shop getting a complete overhaul which is including new 58 injectors. Myb5ek from factory came with with them but they have 38000 hours on th so I bought all new injectors as well as the 800hp cam and bullydog manifold and Borg warner non waste gated turbo with the billet wheel. I also have a local guy name davenport diesel who will be doing a tune on it. So hopefully she works out well

Huh I find all this kind of funny. I thought we wern't supose to talk about tunes and different injectors, and so on and so forth on here anymore. I have had post deleted talking about what I done to my truck. WTH

Regarding the highlighted in red, maybe read post #3 again. Specifically the part about deletes and bypasses
