With the high price of apitong, we use regular wood anymore. Depends on what you haul, but I just use oak. Some companies have gone to using either plywood, or that composite deckboard like homeowners build their porches and decks out of. No matter what you use, it is only going to last so long.

Something ain't right with your adding. 2.40 a linear foot, times 48 feet, times however many boards at that width you need to go across the floor. 48 times
2.40 equals around 116 bucks for each length of board. So, if you get the 7 inch wide sections, it would take roughly 14 pieces to go across the trailer. 116 times 14= 1624 . All very rough figuring.

And I agree, if you can afford it, apitong is great.

Jbatmick is right, you did not fiure in the cost of side-to-side length. It will run you roughly $1600-$1800 in materials. The fun comes when you try removing the old boards tho. My neighbor decided to do this when i was a youngin and i rememeber it taking us a full week to get the old stuff off. Lots of drilling out broken screws and chopping with a hatchet.

Not sure what kind of money you have available, but Fontaine offers a resortation service for trailers now. they take your old trailer, blast it and paint it, replace all the wiring and decking. No idea on a cost tho

Does the trailer only have a partial wood deck?
