New Volvo VNL Released

$196,816,,, whew, you guys have more faith in the future than I do. A long ways from that Crackerbox Jimmy, huh? Beautiful truck, but I can't help think part of the "pileup" problem. 1 finger tip steering, cushy ride, gives a false sense of security. New IH Prostar about $20 grand less. No wonder fleets are going back to IH.

 

I suppose even Volvo trimmed off the things that are never used anymore. I drove a R model Mack that had hood mirrors, I thought they were the best. I'm surprised they aren't here too.

 

I was reading that there is no manual transmission option at all. They only trannys are autoshifts. Also note the tiny side mirrors. Looks like they’ve gone all in and drunk the “we don’t need no stinking side mirrors, we’ve got CAMERAS “ kool aid. Looks to be just a spot mirror. I’m glad I have less than a decade or so out here. I wish I had less!

 

They have camera mirrors that work better than the tiny things that are set too low and too far in to be useful.

 

The new Volvo looks good. They finally updated the cab. They put the new camera mirror system on, that should be much better than regular mirrors, if people want them.

I noticed in one video you can see electric fans in radiator. Maybe they improved the parked electric a/c system
