I know this applies to the following T/A-Petro locations. This list tells which ones, indicated by an asterisk next to their name.
https://www.ta-petro.com/assets/ce/Documents/Master-Location-List.pdf
Among them:
Willington CT
Ontario CA (petro and TA)
Tampa FL
Atlanta GA
Baltimore MD
Jessup MD
Bordentown NJ
Dallas TX
8 out of total 271 locations have controlled access as indicated by their "preferred parking" fees. It is no accident that these locations are in the most urban and crime ridden areas.650cat425 Thanks this. -
I used a rest area instead of a TA last night , all I can do is hope TA will start to lose the battle . Not much little ole me can do besides boycott

I pay to park a lot. It is a business cost. I don't mind if it is close to a pick or delivery and is relatively safe.

To charge for parking on top of someone paying for reserved parking...now they’re playing stupid games...
PE_T, 650cat425, MidWest_MacDaddy and 9 others Thank this. -
The way I read it was if you spend the fee in the store they don't charge the gate fee, so basically saying if you're going to come here and park, use the bathroom, trash etc and not buy anything we will charge you. With the number of people that can cook in the truck and really only need a truck stop for fuel or parking I cant really blame them.
They are after all in business to make money just like the rest of us.650cat425, Valuable Asset, TruckChicken and 7 others Thank this. -
I would love for this to fail for them. Every time a trucker turns around someone has their hand in the truckers pocket.

I paid $25 for parking at Petro in Atlanta and didn't think to show them my receipt for a tire repair. I wonder if that would have kept me from having to pay the $25.
650cat425 Thanks this.
