Just a warning for anyone who runs I-70 between Denver and Grand Junction. Colorado has changed all the speed limit signs on I-70 between Morrison Rd MM 259 and E. Vail MM 179 for commercial vehicles.

Previously, the signs read 35 mph for Vehicles over 26,000 lbs GVW, the signs now read 35 mph for all vehicles over 26,000 GVWR. This is very important to note, even if you are empty, if your GVWR is 26,000 lbs +, and you exceed the 35 mph (45 mph in some areas) speed limit you will be ticketed. I've seen/heard of tickets being written for as little as 3 mph over the limit.

If you are stopped by CSP, they are using the long form ticket/report, in many cases the trooper is intentionally putting a check mark in the box Aggresive Driving which thus makes it a multiplier on the ticket if you try to take it to court as well as on your CSA score.

Fines range from $75 + surcharge to $300 + surcharge.

The are also aggressively enforcing the right lane restriction for trucks on WB I-70 Floyd Hill and EB I-70 Georgetown Hill, they are also strictly enforcing the speed limit on Georgetown Hill.
