I am about to buy a 16913a trans. This week hopefully. I will be swapping it out with a 15 spd. I would like any advice from anyone who has done a job like this. I was looking at reman 18913a transmissions when I came across a brand new 16913a for less then the rebuilds.
Any opinions on the two would be helpful and any feed back from anyone who has a 16913a. I have a 18913a in one of my other trucks how different is the 16913a? Besides torque rating.
Thanks for any input, I wanted to put this post up before I pulled the trigger on buying the trans.

Im running a reman 16913a for about 600k and almost 300k of those miles are on a stage 1 tune from PDI. I did install a 1850lb tourque rated clutch though. Works flawlessly still with 658rwhp. Grossing 80k usually threw Midwest and Western states.

I'll be putting it in a 85 359 pete with a 3406b cat. Pump turned up to a 500. It's sounds like it should be a good fit.

Same trans in my truck. I have no problems with it. Sitting at about 750k right now with zero issues.

Yeah I've been pricing them out new and reman. I found a brand new one for 4200 I think that's an awesome price for a non-reman.
-
Where do y'all find new non-reman at I would spend alittle more to have a new one
-
You can get them built from eaton but they priced one out at 6500 and up. You just gotta ask around your area and find one that someone has or they buy in bulk. I found one at $4200 and no core charge which is huge cause on a reman they want your core. I'm hoping to sell the one I have and really save some money.

Yeah but they want a core charge right ? I found a new one with no core charge.
