You do know that the original RK 56 is no longer made right? The new Road Kings you see at CB shops now are very cheap copies. They look the part but they do not have the same high quality components in them as the older ones did. Look on the back of the mike. If it doesnt say Turner Telex on it then put it back on the shelf!
New RK-56 or Astatic Mic

Well that sucks. Mine is definately a Turner Telex, and I have been more than pleased with its performance. Looks like I'll be looking at Astatics from now on...

Yes it's a shame to see good products go away! I can still find some REAL road king mics BUT, ****BUYER BEWARE***** there ARE some fakes out there ! The old Road King mics are really good - especially in a noisy tractor cab. I have used the Astatic 636L with good results too. I especially like the D104M6B ( but, it doesn't work well in a noisy environment) it's great in my pickup !

You cant beat a 636l.

Go ASTATIC all the way, still AMERICAN BY OUR FRIENDLY BUCK EYES!!!!

The Astatic 636l is definitely better than the new Road Kings
