Hello Folks!!
2021 Cascadia, 521K miles needs a new radiator, Mechanic gave me 3 options:
1) Aftermarket $800 - 1 year warranty
2) Aftermarket $1200 - 2 year warranty (mechanic also claims this is a better quality radiator than $800 one)
3) $1600 - OEM - 1 year warranty
Need your advice on which one I should go with!!

I haven't had much experience with aftermarket in anything other than automotive or ag and if I'm being honest, aftermarket really is hit or miss there in my experience.
Your original rad made it 4 years/500k, you could reasonably expect the OEM replacement to last until the truck hits 1 million.sonnyca, Goodysnap and Big Road Skateboard Thank this. -
Detroit Radiator, used them many times on different customers trucks. Never had any issues.

Been my experience, things that have a 1 year warranty will without question fail in the 13th month. Sadly, you get what you pay for. Go with #2.

I put aftermarket one on my 389. Was about half price. No problems yet. Been about a year.

I think you can get a new radiator that has metal tanks not plastic.

I used Detroit Radiator and in just a month or two after installation the poor brazing on the fill neck began leaking. They wanted me to remove it, send it back to them, let them inspect it and (if they approved) they would ship another one out to me.
That was an absolutely ridiculous way to handle my situation. All it needed was to be properly brazed. They have zero cares about your downtime nor expenses and will do anything to avoid paying a single dime to honor their worthless "warranty."Rideandrepair Thanks this.
