No its a flat spot lol, when i have a spot nearly to the plywood in one specific spot that never uncompresses and is uncomfortable as hell to lay on and causes back and hip pain.....well even if thats a "feature" it defeats the whole point. Meanwhile the memory foam matress at home thats 5 years old doesnt do that.

Go to Mattress Firm with the dimensions of your bunk area, explain to a salesperson your needs, and let them select something of good quality for you. I have bought two mattresses from them. Their salespeople have been awesome, with zero pressure.

When I moved back to IL, I only had what amounted to a yoga pad and a sleeping bag to sleep on. The sales dude asked me about physical considerations and how I slept. I told him I just wanted cheap. He showed me cheap and, then, told me “You don’t want that one or the other one you were just looking at.”. He took me over to two other mattresses he felt would be best for someone who’d broken their back. I ended up buying the most expensive of the two, because it simply was otherworldly. Just the mattress was $2K:)eek:). He had me try a Purple pillow, while lying on that mattress, saying it would be beneficial for spine alignment. I bought it. It’s a fantastic pillow and will buy another, if this one starts collapsing. I’m so glad I listened to the guy and took his advice, because I’ve never been so comfortable and pain-free. I’ll never sleep cheap, again.

I like the memory foam mattress in a box. Cheap, and work well on plywood. The one at home is 8” thick. Too thick. Makes my back hurt. Glad I didn’t get the 12” thick that I wanted. Truck mattresses are usually a twin size “long”. Queen sized longs or California Queens as they’re called are common. Twin and Full size longs aren’t a standard size, but can be found. Regular size is a bit short for the Truck. Another option is to buy the longer full, Queen or even a King and cut it down to fit.

Milliard memory foam is amazing, and cheap, weighs nothing, and covered with a mesh that breathes like crazy and sleeps really cool, i've had this one since summer 2021 and the memory foam feels exactly like it did coming out of the package, even on the edge where it gets crushed everyday from sitting on it. it's just thick enough at 6' 200lbs to keep your hips from pressing through, i also use the U-shaped memory foam body pillow, one leg goes down the back wall and one leg is crossed over to make an L shape for the pillow part, i'm a side sleeper so i can lift the leg up and shove my shoulder under it

If youve never slept on memory foam, steer clear of it, different peoples mileage may vary.

I dont have a problem with a 7 inch firm memory foam in my current truck (6 months) so far, but i did have to put the "cooling gel" side down, 2 nights and my back would ache.

Prefer real spring mattresses, but super tiny sleeper means custom order and rather pricey.
