yeah, looks like a mix of old school US truck and european cabover.
some European things
Inside... no Actros steering wheel like in Cascadia, seems to me steering wheel is like on International trucks, really I do not like this style, dashboard is old, someone calls it classic dashboard.
Unusual for EU truck is that cabin is made of aluminium. EU cabs are made of steel.
IMO - good looking COE truck, but really no innovations, may be new 15 detroit diesel. -
it IS a europe truck, if you look at the pic's of the inside of the cab the steering wheel in on the RIGHT
Raiderfanatic Thanks this. -
I think that I like the looks of the old one better, but really it looks as though the only thing changed was the front grille.
Question, why do all Euro trucks run the square (rectangular) shape, better packaging? -
why not European truck? first of all US axes with US rim bolt pattern, drum brakes are not used on EU road trucks too, no EBS, no ECAS, no wheel lug shield.
so for EU Argosy must look a bit different, but Mercedes do not want to sell Argosy in EU becouse they may cut Actros and Axor. -
Nice! i hope i get one!

I used to ride in Argosy with Mercedes engine. I can compare it with Mercedes Actros. Cab is roomy, but it is not a modern truck. Yes, it is cool, but runs too rought, more noisy innside then European trucks, but... it is of simple design and easy to fix and maintane, easier European CABovers.
IMO, this is not new Argosy, it is restyled Argosy, but technically it is truck from 90-s.
I can understand Daimler, they keep doing global engine for class 8 trucks (yep, it is Detroit 13/15/16, also known and OM471), so they will make global trucks soon, I sugest new age trucks will be based on Actros MP4. They will use this cabin for cabovers and for conv. trucks, like Volvo does now (everyone who used to work both on EU and US Volvos know how many parts they share, not engines and trunsmissions only, but every small thing in cabin).
So I concider restyled Argosy to be a temporary product on market before new age trucks will appeare. And I wanna remind you about new safety regulations in the USA, so more tougt cabs will be soon and seems to me all new trucks in the USA will have EBS brakes with all disk brakes. So axes will totally be redisigned.RAGE 18 Thanks this. -
Yes i drive that argosy down there on my pic man i hope they get that new one to the us soon any idea when they are coming out here in the US?My company has 40 1999 argosys and 25 of the freightliner cabover old schools i know they will get some of these.

hey Pablo, yea we need cabovers here you see alot of them in Oakland Ca,San Francisco,LA not too many OTR like mine. These trucks have many advantages over conventionals i pull 53' curtain van 10' spread axle and easy carry 50k load,on that pic is a 45' flatbed and carry 53k load good when you get paid by weight. Not as roomy as conventionals but im solo driver so its ok.
