Truck sat for 2 weeks, came back from vacation and 1st fault code that popped was from inlet manifold sensor then other followed within 50 miles. Any suggestions , location of sensor. DD15 in 2012 Cascadia

It really helps when you put fault codes in the order of: SA/SPN/FMI
    So like this:

1/5357/16--Total injected fuel mass too high
1/3563/20--Ambient and Inlet Manifold Pressure Difference (Low Box)
1/2631/1--Unexceptable long time in smoke mode

Truck sat for a couple weeks...I wonder if you have sticky/leaky injectors!

Well I guess it is from a faulty inlet manifold sensor, aka delta P sensor. Probably full of crud. BTW...my cut and copy isn't working from PSL. Ugh...

    SPN 5357/FMI 16
    Description Fuel Quantity High Detected
    Monitored Parameter Injector Quantity
Typical Enabling Conditions Steady State Drive & No Regen
    Monitor Sequence None
Execution Frequency Continuous when enabling conditions met
    Typical Duration 2 Minutes
    Dash Lamps MIL, CEL
    Engine Reaction Derate 25%
    Verification Steady Engine RPM 1400 - 1500 (2 minute)

    1. Monitor the intake manifold temperature; is the intake manifold temperature reading greater than 65°C (150°F)?
    1. Compare intake manifold pressure to atmospheric (Baro) pressure. Is the intake manifold pressure within 0.4 psi of Baro pressure?
    1. Remove the EGR delta P sensor from the mounting pad; leave electrical harness connected. Refer to section "Removal of the Delta P Sensor" .
    2. Is the EGR delta P voltage between 0.55 and 0.83 volts?
      1. Leak check the Charge Air Cooler (CAC); refer to OEM literature for procedure.

Hmm never had any problems with injectors before, i am using Lucavs or howes . I just bought the sensor and will replace it 2morrow to see if it helps the issue

Is that the one on the driver side covered by pueve of metal ? I thought delta P is somehwere closer to a firewall.

No no no...it's located on the cross pipe in front of the engine. It gets a lot of crud because the exhaust gasses get cooled by the EGR and then you get a deposition of carbon that winds up on all the surfaces. You can use carburetor cleaner to loosen and dissolve the crud a little.

ALSO! The pigtail on the delta P sensor is VERY VERY finiky. Pay close attention if there is any pin fretting. You'll notice how the pigtail hangs out right there which causes the whole thing to vibrate excessively and move whichever way. This can, in addition, lead to poor connection to the sensor itself because the female pins get worn out very easy--even tho the sensor itself might be good!

I replaced intakw manifold sensor and Delta P and the only cose left is 5357/16--Total injected fuel mass too high.

Truck seems to be runninf fine , pulling 44k as I write this. Could it be a matter of only clearing the code ?

Did the code become inactive? It might need a certain deactivation time in order to self heal--otherwise yes, it might need to be cleared.

If it is still active, you might need to check several things still such as:
EGR hot pipe clogged (you might need to take off this pipe and see if there is a huge amount of crud buildup)
    Check the CAC for leaks
Is your intake manifold temp sensor still reading really high?
Whats the Delta P sensor voltage readings?

Update : after 550 mile drive and multiple egine starts MIL light went off and no codes are showing.

    Thanks for all the help
