I received an email requesting that I log into FMCSA and provide documents for my new entrant safety audit. I sent all documents they asked for last week.
My question, for those that did their safety audit via online, no office visit, how long did it take for you to receive a response back rather by mail or email?

Update..........
I located and phoned the auditor listed at the bottom of my email notification, I asked him for a status update and we had a conversation. He was very impressed with the information I presented. He told me that usually he has to go back and forth with a carrier to get the information requested. I told him I use an online software called mydriverfiles which helps with DOT audits.
To say the least, I passed. I’m good to continue working towards making my vision a reality.Another Canadian driver, D.Tibbitt, Accidental Trucker and 6 others Thank this. -

I think they want you to call. I remember when I had mine I sent all my stuff in and got an e-mail from the auditor.
I called right away and she basically said she just wanted to make sure I was who I said I was and wasn't trying to set up an MC under someone else's name after being shut down in the past.
They are looking for compliance and fraud. If you're not the Russian org who was shut down last year and is trying to re-start under a comrad's name, you should be ok.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
My auditor told me that Armenians and I think Russians actually buy CDL licenses from wherever they get them

It took about 45 days after the deadline you're supposed to submit to receive the letter in the mail. But it depends on your state. Due to COVID-19, some have to work from home, so that is why it takes so long.
My number was activated at the end of February. I was asked about three months later to submit all paperwork online. I had everything they asked for. One month later after submission, I received a call. I had very nice paperwork in place I was told. The auditor (a woman) was impressed.
I was watching the safer website to check if it will show I passed the audit. Once it showed that the driver had one inspection, then it disappeared. And now it shows "0" inspections.
Not sure what happened. I do have a letter though I passed the safety audit.Last edited: Jul 11, 2020

What information documentation did they ask you for?
Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
Basically, they wanted proof of insurance, proof of annual inspection, my E-logs for the past 3 months, proof of enrollment in the drug and alcohol consortium, equipment and driver/s lists, hiring documents of driver/s, etc.
I use a cloud base system that puts all these documents in one file. So all I did was send them what they asked for.
The list is specific for your company and may differ from carrier to carrier and state to state. But, if your states participates in online DOT audits, they may just send you an email requesting documents. The name of the auditor will be provided as well as his/her phone number. So make sure to check your spam box. I also received a letter in the mail at my office. But, I am only at my office maybe once a month unless I need to head into my office sooner. I try to have everything come to my email because I’m out of the office so much. But there are people at my office that lets me know when I need to make my way back to pickup the important mail.Another Canadian driver Thanks this.
