You don't need a visa to run into the states.... You just need a passport..... You don't even need the fast card although it's nice to have.. Especially when your loads are fast approved... Alot of automotive is fast express.. Shipper, Carrier and Receiver all have to be fast approved as well for you to use the fast express car for it's intended purpose.. It helps you get across faster if your provide it even when your loads are not fast approved...

thanx for the update GOV'T. I can see some companies do not really care about the FAST card but most of them I have contacted are hooked on the FAST as prerequisite for hiring.

I have been checking the job posts in Sasc' and Manitoba, Alberta. No one is as obsessed with the 3 years of experience and FAST card as Ontario companies. I started thinking that they are on drug or dope :biggrin_25523:

Employers out of Ontario all they want from a driver is a license and willingness to stay with the company for longer than just one trip. So I'm thinking of relocating as it is almost impossible to get a job with a company who pays you actually at the end of the week if you are white. If I was Hindi or Pakistani I would have been on the road even without a school or training. I know this for a fact. I had many calls and met many owner operators here in Mississauga, they told me in my face. "Your white, we dont hire whites, we hire pakistanies and hindi."

Anyways, back to your comment, appreciate the feed. I keep looking, perhaps one day a white Candian less racist will hire me.:biggrin_255:

Manitoba is generally good just because it's pretty much in the middle of the country. A lot of freight gets funnelled through here, and with NAFTA it runs not just east-west, but south into the US and Mexico.

    #### you sound like you've had some bad runins. Try small companies 30-80 tractors. this isnt anything new everyone says this. The jobs are out there, why go to a province with a fraction of the amount of carriers, sounds like you havnt researched all your options, look for companies u dont see in major magazines etc, little tip: J&R Hall out of ayr ontario with 3 terminals across canada ending in BC. are aparently a fantastic company, a classmate of mine was researching them, they may still be looking for drivers. Those shiney Black Kens with electric blue writing. they dont normally hire students but where excited to talk to my classmate.
