    Hello, Everyone.

I recently passed my CDL (Tank, doubles/triples, and Hazmat) driving exam and just got my license on the mail. I want to get into hauling containers in the ports of LA and Long Beach and I already have my TWIC card. Does anyone know of a company or companies that hire new drivers with no experience at all, other than attending trucking school. I'm open to working hourly and willing to try per load. If anyone knows of any company please let me know. Thanks

Go through KKW Trucking Company training program and this way you gain experience plus get paid for doing it.

Are you talking about 20 ft 40 ft and 45 ft port containers or the 53ft rail containers? Because companies that pull port containers there are a couple that require a minimum 1 year experience but most want 2 years. But for the rail you have Schneider and swift I believe have the lowest experience experience level but all kinda be on a waiting list because most position be filled. Jb hunt is like 6 months and i use to pull for hub group they want 1 year if you are 25 or older

I'm not sure what size they are, but I'm talking about the ship containers. I've seen different sizes. I'm not looking to go with a big company and I've heard about experience requirement from the ones you mentioned. I have called a couple small companies and they will hire new drivers, fresh out of trucking school and no port experience. Thanks for the info.

Yes ship containers are the same as port containers they are 20 40 and 45 foot boxes. I live in the south east and 3 years ago those were the requirements back when i was new driver but I got lucky and someone hired me at 8 months.

If you were located in the Bay Area, I could get you a job by tomorrow. I have some friends that work for the Port of Oakland. They are always asking me if I want to go back, but I'm in a good place right now.

Thanks! There are a lot of ads on Craigslist but they ask for some kind of driving and port experience. I did some research after posting it on here but I feel confident that I can get a job at the port for sure.
