This came in the mail yesterday-

This is the new tax they are imposing on trucks that operate in or thru the state. For a vehicle registered at 80,000 lbs it will be $0.10 per mile travelled in CT.
Starts January 1, 2023/ now is way past the time that we can fight it.

Just an fyi for all those that weren’t aware.

The way I read that is if your carrier name is " certain" you will have to comply with the money grab. What a crock of sheet!

I wonder if they will be sending a letter out to everyone that goes thru from this year? Gonna guess they will be very similar to New Yorks set up with a sticker? I sure hate NY web set up for filing. It is the only website I tend to have problems with filing. Thankfully they changed it to file once a year since I do not go in the state enough.

Well, I expect they may follow up with carriers that show IFTA mileage without reporting to this new HUT.
This new tax will first and foremost affect carriers registered in the state of CT/ as it would be quite improbable for a CT registered carrier to have no taxable mileage in said state. Much as NY based carriers have to make a deposit toward NYS HUT taxes in advance vs reporting mileage when they travel in NY as out of state carriers do.

Not really that awesome for resident carriers.

I have that same exact knife set. #### it! Now I want to cut up some cheese and crackers.

Honestly though man that sucks. No doubt, it’ll spread to other states.
