We’re in the market for a truck and have spent a lot of time in the older Cascadia. I would like to hear from drivers that have driven the old Cascadia and the new one. Is the new one any better? The cab certainly is designed a lot better and the outside looks much cooler but are the differences only skin deep? Specifically I want to know if the ride has improved and by how much. If it hasn’t I’m just going to get a Volvo because trying to sleep in the old Cascadia while it’s rolling is not easy.

It looks like a freaking transformer. Very un-sexy.

Curious too. Does is still earn the nickname "Freightshaker?"

There are enough of the new Cascadias out there that I would think there are some drivers that could do a comparison post. I really have to know if the ride is better.

They're not really that bad; but, like with any of the newer tractors, the key is to keep up on the maintenance. Get even the smallest little pissant issue fixed ASAP because the newer trucks (even the older Cascadias) have a habit of falling apart real quick if you don't get anal about maintenance issues.

That last sentence pretty much sums up my experience with the Cascadias TBH. Not bad trucks as long as you don't ignore the small stuff.

Both of mine did. Hopefully the new one doesn’t. The new one has a one piece windshield so probably less chance of it leaking.

I find the ride about the same.

The new interior is better in some ways, not in others.

The microwave shelf is nice. The new cabinet layout makes it feel much more open but I seem to have a bit less storage space. The overhead shelf isn't good for much.

The new dash I could take or leave but the steering controls are better.

My windshield doesn't leak at all though I think @STexan said his has leaked.

The one piece windshield is nice in the winter, better visibility without all the snow building up in the center.

Some don't like fender mirrors but I use them all the time. If you look at one of the new cascadias you'll notice those mirrors are lower than on the previous models. This means they are useless to me unless I raise the seat or lean forward when trying to make use of them.

I think those mirrors are adjustable if i remember right. One of mine got hit by england one time.

I like the newer FL's. I dindn't have a problem with leaking but the wipers electrical did have to be fixed on 17. For water leakage. They didn't always work when it rained.

I wouldn't buy a vulva. They're more headache then is necessary.
