Check out the install. My carrier dealer told me most of the time the lack of cooling or heat with new installs come from not installing the air duct work properly. He said a lot of places try to cut corners and plumb the apu duct into the trucks sleeper duct. This doesn't work coz it will pump half your cooled or heated air out of the sleeper blower fan and not into your cab .

Curious what his issue turned out to be? I have a carrier on new volvo 760. My vents are under lower bunk and I was cooking today in Florida. Carrier dealer said whoever installed should have installed vents at the bunk levels too instead of under bed. I bought a tornado fan aimed it up high. Its clipped right in the flow of the cold air forcing it up cab cooled to 73 after I did this. Heat index was 99 today. Now that sun is not beating on truck apu is cooling whole cab.

Brand spanking new huh must be frustrating to have it not work especially if your in the hot zone TX being new its under warranty best take it back and get it checked out i know that's not going to fix you hot sweaty situation for now however unless they've got some call out service or are willing to pay for a call out service it would be interesting to see if it plays up when you are in cooler conditions by rights if its brand new the unit should be functioning and keeping temps down to a reasonable level.

I have a new KW on order and have been thinking about the Comfort Pro, you’ve had yours for a bit now, how are feeling about it?

After putting nearly 1000 hours on my comfort pro with no real issues, I'd say that I would still buy the carrier.
One of the main reasons I went with the carrier is it has an actual generator, not just an inverter. It also has a battery tender mode which will start the unit when the voltage drops below the level you set. This works great with a bunk heater and hotel loads on the batteries. Already had the bunk heater in my truck. The electric heater on the apu also works well, and there is a setting that will start and stop the apu while maintaining cab temp.
As for not cooling properly, after talking to carrier and to many drivers with all brands of apu's I found that its just hard for these units to cool a big bunk on a hot sunny day, especially in a dark truck. My carrier will keep it comfortable in the bunk up to about 90 on a sunny day. If it gets over that I might have to start the truck for a few minutes to pull the temp down every hour or so.
