Maybe it is just the first that I have seen it but it is a 31' deck over with a 9' hydraulic dovetail instead of mega ramps for a total of 40'. Anybody have any experience with them?

Hydraulic dovetail is good for drive-on but the tail can't support a lot of weight.
-
Big Tex claims 8000lbs on the dovetail.

Not sure on the Tex, but some others are only supposed to carry weight on the first half of the tail length. So your 40' deck becomes 35' of actual useable deck space. That'd be one of my biggest concerns with a hydraulic tail trailer. On a 40' hotshot you need all of it sometimes.. -
Yea they don't specify if it will "lift" 8k but I am going to check it out tomorrow.
singlescrewshaker Thanks this. -
Another option is a 'tilt bed' trailer, 2 companies make this kind LoneStar trailer and Kerr Bilt with this trailer you can run empty container for ground delivery, pay very well.

Will be getting a trailer soon. I am pretty much down to Gatormade or Big Tex. 40’ but still haven’t decided on hydraulic dove tail or flip ramps and is air ride worth the extra money? How about 17.5 wheels vs 16’s?
