I just found this forum & there's a lot of good advice on here. However it seems like it mostly applies to US based drivers.
My dilemma is I can't find work anywhere here in Toronto as a newly licensed AZ driver.
I graduated from Humber Transportation Training Centre this past November & I'm wondering how I can get my foot in the door in the industry. Any advice would be great!
New AZ driver in Toronto, Canada. Can't find work.

Reach out to Trimac Transportation, Contrans or Challenger Motor Freight. They might be able to work with you.
Humber is one of the better places to obtain your training, so you’ve got that going for you.Dumpin_loads and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
My brother in law was at Contrans. He said they treated him really well there, and he was a fussy old fart.

Challenger, bison, kriska, transx, verspeeten, Gibson, one world, highlight, trailwood transport, erb, to name a few, take a ride thru the truck stops take some notes, you will find something. Go in pick up the little magazine it's full of places looking for drivers.

Saw a billboard on Highway 11 for Chantler Transport that said new drivers welcome. Although their website says 3 years experience.

Things are kind of tight right now, demand is down, as such rates go down and so does the demand for drivers. They will lay off, find reasons to get rid of drivers, in contrast when it's busy they'll take anyone with a pulse. This industry is very cyclical, may just need to hold out a bit. Unless you got about a quarter million to buy me out.
