I have new 2014 670
and no faults codes in diagnostics menu.
what is it? volvo wants more money for diagnostics? leave truck we look it tomorrow... next week.... next year(it not a joke, it was dec 15)
Anybody have same issue? or it just special version for me.
PS: I am not working for large company who can lock this menu from driver.
If you buying new truck ask dealer, maybe it will unlock it for free before you buy, not after.

I believe what they are saying (very poorly) is that the diagnostic codes are not showing on the dash screen, just the check engine and stop engine message. This is a selectable setting in the ecm. There are multiple levels of messages that can be displayed but if turned off, you have to hook it up to a computer to read the codes.

flood Thanks this. -
I believe the last 5 we got only give u the Sae fault like mid pid and fmi in different format u have to hook up with a laptop to get the fault code also the diagnostic connections went to obd format no more like it used to be

The new OBD Volvos no longer display inactive codes like the previous versions did. Also the new Volvos lock out diagnostics unless the park brake is set. When you see the new codes they report as follows. SA 0 (engine reporting) SPN XXXX identifies which system FMI 0-31 tell what failure has occurred.
The MID/pid-sid/FMI now only applies to ECU's other than engine. These formats apply to all US10 and newer trucks. -
what is this DTC P269800 FAULT Code. i see on my volvo truck. is this critical? let anyone pls comment.

Hi guys. I have the exact same problem! It is a 2014 VNL 670 with a Cummins. When trying to access the menu for DIAGNOSTICS only the the cluster tests show up. I can't get to the engine codes or any other codes for any part of the truck. Please help me if anyone has had the same problem and what was the fix. A European mechanic said it was in the cluster. any insight would be helpful. thank you.
