So here is my first post.

    I bought a 2005 Kenworth KW900 with a C15 in it

This truck has gotten pretty bad mileage. 4.8 to 5.2 doing 80k flatbad over the western US. Our old 96 Pete 379 3406e got much better milage.

    Here is the motor info
    Serial BXS17638
    C15
    ECM 253-6068
    Perf Spec OK-5651
    OEM# E1EJBB9UAYA0A49F97
    475 HP
    13SPD RATED 1850
    22.5's
    335 gears

I have been doing lots of reading here.. Great info by the way!!!

We just did a complete overhead at local shop. Said 2 injectors were way off. mileage went up .3 or so.

    Now interested in the following:
Fuel Wire .. need the correct info how to do it..
    Boost Wire Mod

I want to make these mods, and wire them so that I can switch them off from the cab, as we run California often (live here :biggrin_25510: )

Can any one give a detailed description of the how to create these?

    Future mods..

    switch mufflers
    Fuel pressure mod
Fuel filter head unit to higher GPH unit

Can someone give a description of how to do the new spring in the pump and make it adjustable? and were does the clear tubing go to see the bubles.. or hopefuly lack of bubbles

    Thanks

    Dan

google. Diesel garage.in heavy duty section.thread title shim Cat transfer pump. adjustable fuel pressure description is there.the more mods you do the less you will need or want boost press mod.fuel temp sensor info is here on this board. do the F/W sep head/filter first. its cheap and critical for performance.not sure what youre referring to with the clear tube. if your checking for sucking air you need a site glass

So I read for a few hours. Copied text of several thread on several Boards.

Here is what I did today:

    1: Home Made Fuel Wire

Went to Radio Shack, purchased a 100 Ohm 1 watt resister.
Also bought small solder on pin conectors that were same size as the factory Female ends.

Soldiered the Male Pins to both ends of the Resiter, and Heat shrink wrapped the whole thing.

Bend and insert into the plug :biggrin_25524:

2: Turbo Boost Wire with on off switch

While at Radio Shack bought a 5.6k Ohm 1/2 watt resister

Found conector behind Air Compressor on drivers side of motor..

Cut Green Wire On sensor side of the plug. (I figured the 1 foot long conector would be easiest to replace if i needed to remove later)

Soldiered on one female and 1 male spade conector, and shrink wrapped ends. (allows me to disconect my setup, and got to factory in about 30 seconds if it has to go in for wareranty)

Run 2 wires from dash switch to the spade conectors. (needs to be a 2 connector switch . Single Pole Single Throw Switch.

When Switch is up it conects the 2 wires together = factory setting, just like the wire was still conected.

Also jumped the 2 poles of the switch with a 5.6k Ohm 1/2 watt resister.

This allows the signal to go through the resister when the switch is up, and the 2 poles are disconected = Boost wire mod!!!!

3: Shimmed the pump.. this was easy, drop a washer in, and bolt it up!!!

    Fuel Wire

    Boost Wire Mod

The two black wires run to the dash switch

The wire coneting the two spades is the 5k Ohm Resister.

Now I have to test it!!!!
