Hello. I have a carrier X4 7500 unit. Happened a few times already, unit shuts off with no alarm codes given. Does display a message on a bottom of a screen "unit restart will occur -hp1". Any idea what it could be? Can not find any info about it online.

Check the simple things. Fuel screen, fuel filter, main and battery ground and all wiring harnesses.

Try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes then reconnect.

Just did oil/filter change including the fuel screen. Happened before and after service - so not that. Battery is about 1/2 year old, contacts are clean and tight. Wiring harnesses - ughh - that's some task - looks like a million wires in there - can't check them all with ohm meter . But everything looks ok. Belts are good too. Tighten them up a bit when did the service - doesn't seem to affect the problem either.

Yes, that does make unit restart. Sometimes it's shuts off right away with the same message, sometimes it's just fixes itself and keeps on running. Definitely does not stop the problem from reoccurring.

What about the main ground lug on engine?
Does it sound like it runs out of fuel or like the switch is turned off?

Like the switch is turned off. It doesn't bogs down. Sounds just like someone switched unit off, but not. The green/yellow info light turns off completely. I I think later it turns yellow, but still no codes present. And if I won't do anything unit will eventually restart and either keep on running or shuts off with the same message.

    Maybe @wichris has some ideas.
I’d start it up and start wiggling wires.

Have had that happen a few times with a starter going bad/corroded connections at the starter.

Doubt it. Unit has no problem starting up. It just shuts off while it's running. Continues or start/stop, doesn't matter. Obviously it doesn't like some conditions...
