Have a rebuilt 3406B CAT engine in a 1989 Pete 379. Recently had it rebuilt with OEM CAT parts but the mechanic left half of the connections loose or disconnected. The tractor will be in the TX area for the next few weeks. Want to schedule someone to look at it while its in the area.

    VIN: 1XP5D B9X4K D2702 18

    Tks for your help.

Big area...you may need to be a bit more specific.

We are OTR so it doesn't matter where in TX. Don't want to limit our options to one area.

Chris look out..!!! I thought I had a guy in El Paso but I was so very wrong. We just had our 3406 rebuilt. It is a a B mechanical build on C block. I ended up with what I consider the most cobbled expensive mess I've ever imagined. Steer Way way clear of an outfit called Duran & Sons in El Paso. I suggest take it to the Cat House in St. Cloud, Mn., or right to the Cat dealer. Don't throw the money I through away just to fix it yourself like I'm having to. FYI... I live in west Texas and run a 1984 359 on heavy and oversize... and I've found no good old school mechanics AT ALL..!

Tks Bob - after spending over 15K on this re-build I keep throwing good money after bad work! Appreciate the feedback.

I am in San Marcos to which is right between Austin and San Antonio on 35 and have tons of experience with b models and all the older engines. What issues are you having?

Recently re-built 3406B. Issues with missing electrical connections to the motor and a possible oil leak
