My spouse has worked for Natonal (Beef) Carriers for some time now. But that has come to an end. For the last year they have gotten him home on time only once. He is out an average of five weeks. They can not keep a good dispatcher to save the truckers. And compensation is awful. If you are a good driver with a good driving/safety record, bypass National (Beef) Carriers. They will tell you anything to get you to stay and come through with nothing promised. Delivery Appointments are a joke there is never a load that isn't delivered without a mistake at the drivers expense.

I worked there for a fleet owner back in 2003. while I was there I saw a decline in the way they treat drivers O/O all the way down to L/O. They will lie to you and stab ypou in the back. I had no complaints on the O/O I worked for. He took care of his drivers, but NCI will run you into the ground and STAY AWAY from the lease program.... Everyone that I knew that went into that program was ripped off and broke.

Leaving the truck at the truck stop only hurt your DAC not the trucking company.

Its not always the carrier that is at fault. There is no perfect carrrier to work for. What happened at National Carriers could have happened at any carrier. I have been with them for 5 plus years and have had very few problems. The biggest problem is communication...lack of by both driver and driver manager. Lack of communication or not making your needs completely understood is always a problem. If you wait til the last minute to request home time, you are not gonna get it. The company does not run for my convienence. Even if you have your own authority, you my not get home when you want to..There are 2 sides to every story.......I enjoy running for NCI and plan on staying there for the long term

It's easy getting into any company lease program, exiting is a different story.

I worked for NCI only 3 months. I couldnt get my equipment repaired. The equipment (tractor) was in need of a new fifth wheel plate that was twisted and nearly lost a trailer as well as severe front end problems. I communicated these issues very well to no solution. I didnt leave there equipment I did return it and now have a great job with a fantastic company.

Sorry it didn't work out for you. I have been there for 5 years and have had mostly good experiences. Sometimes what works for some people doesn't work for others. Good luck in your new job.
