Hello all, hope your Sunday is going great.

I've been driving for 8 years and have made it a goal to (1) not have any kids and (2) travel the world on my own free time. Since then, I've solo travelled to London (x2), Cape Verde, Africa, South Korea, Japan and many many other places.

The oilfields helped this process (thanks North Dakota! ) but now I'm looking elsewhere. My pops recently got sick and I'm looking for a trucking company in Nashville that's regional, home on weekends OR a company that offers a "flex driver" program (I did it at an outfit, they fly me to different terminals that are short, staffed for WHATEVER reason and I stay in hotel. Minimum 2 weeks on/1 off).

Does anyone have any reputable leads? Looking within 25 miles of nashville.

8 years exp. Tanker endorsement. Home weekends. Pay preference in the 1500 a week as it's just me and I'll be checking in with my Dad during my resets.

Could care less about driver facing cameras, just want a good, reliable, transportation company that will be respectful to deal with.

    Thank you in advance!

    silverspur Thanks this.

Estes has a large terminal in Laverne Tn, which is a suburb of Nashville. Most LTL companies have a big presence in Nashville, but most are not currently hiring. It wouldn’t hurt to look at all of them incase they do hire.

I actually spoke to them and they have an otr position that's kinda like what I did at my previous company. I definitely am familiar with most of Rutherford county and wouldn't mind working for them, but they had no openings and took my info down unfortunately.

    But still stabbing at it!

It is pretty wild some of these larger companies not having openings but I see it here in Dallas also. Many companies who had constant opening even 1 year ago are full. If they have an opening it gets filled fast. This includes the swifts, JB hunts etc for local type stuff.

True. I've noticed a lot of companies aren't hiring (in my area) that are otherwise larger companies. No idea how it's going nationally though, but I may just have to suck it up and go back to the oilfields since it's so very consistent and easy work!! (Sarcasm obviously) Lol

@Chinatown you got any input? You e molded my trucking career virtually, and thanks for all you do, and have done

Are you in Nashville or Winston-Salem?
    You move around a lot.

Nashville. I've moved from Winston Salem, bought a house in Upstate New York, now making moves to be back in Nashville (from Franklin originally) to be closer to family and that beautiful airport that will service the EU next year

Dot Foods is finishing up their new DC in Manchester. $100K/yr. Excellent benefits.

Walmart has a DC in Shelbyville. Everyone knows what they offer.

Big G Express in Shelbyville. You’ll need to do your own research.

Averitt Express in Nashville. Again, do your research.

Venture Express. Venture Logistics. First Fleet. All the LTL companies.
