I may be wrong but I think mytee tarps are made in China. I have never been around peaks but it a lot of people on here speak highly of them. I would do a equipment or tarp search on here.

The one problem you may have with light weight tarps is that they rip easier then heavy tarps. Even heavy tarps get holes but with a light weight tarp the wind can continue to rip a light weight tarp apart.

If your concerned about weight any tarp company can make you any size you want. So, you could have 5 smaller tarps made instead of 2 large ones. If I were to do it again that's what I would do. It seems that every time I tarp I'm short by 2 feet then back to break out another 25' tarp!!!

Also, the benefit of a smaller size tarps like 10x25 is that you can turn it sideways. It must be 25' in one direction to cover an 8' high lumber load. The tarp company can tell you how much any custom made tarp will weigh.

AND......if you go that route you need D-Rings to cover the whole tarp, not just a portion of the sides. The reason is if you turn them sideways you may not have any D-Rings to hook onto.

all our tarps our lightweight. and they really suck. except for the weight issue. specially in them strong winds.

they don't last long, constantly being repaired. and before long, your lightweight tarp is now heavy with the added patch material. your kinda screwed when the rings tear out though.

speaking of which, where's the for sale section on this sight. i think i'm going to sell my hardly used tarps. i don't see myself using them ever again.

Ha ha ha ha. Funny post snowwy. Don't hold back, tell us how you really feel. lol

I hate tarping and keep saying I'm going to dump them on the ground and leave. Then a load comes along when I'm in a crap hole that pays so well I can't turn it down. The last one was a load of mahogany lumber going to the Marvin window maker in Minnesota from Louisiana. A long run and paid really really good but needed 8' tarps.

It was over a 100 degrees out. I could only work for maybe 10 minutes and had to go inside the truck and cool off and drink. I don't mind tarping bagged material on skids with my steel tarps.

As a rookie driver, I'm happy to see you veterans still don't like tarping...I despise it. But....every week my confidence increases and my tarp jobs look really good (sometimes)

Ive owned BOTH Peaks tarps and mytee products tarps......

Peaks tarps made out of a non-vinyl material ,They Claim to be water repellant,But they are NOT,A good soaking rain with these things sitting on material and when you deliver ,its Wet, Yes,I Know first hand..A Waste of $260 for a 4' drop.

Now Mytee Tarps, I lOVE em' Extremely affordable types for any application, Plenty of D rings on all four sides, I am nothing but happy as I get 3-4 years out of a tarp from them,(take care of them when tarping)

the Worst place to buy a tarp is 'Tarpstop'......Expensive, skimpy on D-rings and eyes, They put their name on them so you can advertise for them, And they are simply overrated

I'm using a 3 piece my tee lumber set up and I like them a lot. I go into canada a lot and they hold up to the wind pretty well. Haven't had them do any major tearing either. The last set I used were lightweights and a summer run through flagstaff ate them alive. The d- rings were getting snatched off and the threads holding the bands the d rings were attached to were pulling apart. A Small hole on the top turned into about a 3 foot gash in a matter of maybe 2 hours. Trashed them as soon as I could lol wasn't worth having lighter set up.
