Well, I'm in Carlisle, PA getting ready for my orientation for Schneider National. I start my orientation tomorrow and will only have to be here until Thursday. I will be working the ICL (Independent Conatiner Line) dedicated account out of Chester, PA. I will try my best to document my expierience during the orientation. Hopefully this will be helpful for the anyone that is concidering going with Schneider. If there are any fellow SNI drivers wanting to share tips about the company, please do!

Sitting at the terminal in Harrisburg getting ready to start the pre work screen. This terminal seems pretty decent so far.

First day of orientation is done. Nothing exciting to report. We did some paperwork and then did our pre work screen. The pre work screen was very easy. They took our blood preasure and also checked our resting pulse. The exercises were so easy that my pulse never got above 109. If anyone is worried about it, don't be.......
Bocephus Thanks this. -
I didn't notice, are you I/C or Company?

I doubt it. I looked into it this week and I didn't like what I saw.

Well, it's been a long time since I updated, so here it goes.
Orientation at Carlise was good. As I said before, the first day was a Sunday and it was simply filling out paperwork and going through the pre work screen.
Monday was a long day. We spent the first part of the morning going through a road test and what Schneider expects from you when you are hooking up to the truck. They want us to back to the trailer and put the rear wheels just under the trailer. After that, we have to get out of the truck and make sure that the king pin is lined up and that there is no possibility of high hooking the trailer. Next, you get back in the truck and couple up. After this is done, you have to do what they call a PAL (Pin, Air Lines, and Landing gear. Pretty easy to remember because it was all not so common, Common Sense! After that, you go out and do a 22 mile road test with a lot of city turning and some highway driving.
Tuesday and Wednesday are going through briefing, doing more CBT's (computer based training).
Thrusday is just finishing up last minute paperwork and watching a video on why Schneider does not want unions. Then about noon we graduated.
Now, remember this is for us exp. guys! I can't imagine what the newbies have to go through. -

Way to go, be safe out there.
