Hello, I am an owner operator with my MC authority, that now wants to move to another state, but don't want to move the llc with me. My llc address was my home address when it was created which means I will personally move, but keep my llc as is functioning with the Ohio address (Sister lives there). Can it be done? Or have anyone done this before? Will there be an issue where I'm filing in 2 states or is everything fine and I'll only file for Ohio where the llc is located because I have an MC authority. How would filing in the new state work with my business being located in Ohio, but I'll be running local in the new state. Help greatly appreciated
My llc was established in Ohio with a physical address there, but now want to move

What does your accountant say?
NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
I do my own self employed accounting, never hired any accountant with all the apps and videos. I got no employees it's just me, so paperwork was straight forward

in reality you need a legal presence in the other state and that would mean that you also need an authority to run in the other state, an interstate authority.
Also you can’t move an llc, you have to dissolve it and then transfer the assets to the new entity. -

Ok you seem to have it together, but it isn’t a trucking issue, it is a state revenue tax and irs issue, that’s why you get an accountant (cpa or ea) with a background in multi state jurisdictions.

Here’s an idea which idk if would work but could be worth checking out.
First check if you can update the info I write about below, I’m sure you can the address, not sure you can the EIN.
Open a new LLC in a new state under the same name, update the address and EIN number with dot and if it works, disolve the old one.
