The left or right lane is usually determined by which exit you will be taking.

And a good rule of thumb is to not worry so much about the right of way, but simply staying out of harms way.
You will lose very little time by hanging back a bit to make sure you are not right next to another big truck.

I'm 100% on board with the straddle method.

Whats confusing? In their explanation they clearly state it is likely a semi will need to encroach on both lanes, ie take all the space.

Case 1 designs have a single white
    pavement marking line separating
the entry lanes. Large trucks are
    expected to encroach into adjacent
    lanes as they approach, enter,
    circulate, and exit the roundabout.

Case 2 designs have painted gores
    that provide separation between
the entry lanes. Large trucks can
stay in-lane as they approach and
    enter the roundabout, but may
    need to encroach into adjacent
lanes as they circulate and exit the
    roundabout.

Look at all the real estate needed for those roundabouts. That is land that is taken away, basically forever from private ownership, never to be taxed, thus increasing the tax burden on the remaining land to make up the shortfall.
Roundabouts are extremely expensive to install, and maintain.

How about just some common sense?

Of course there will be some instance when some genius tries to overtake you in a roundabout.

If you're in there already, take both lanes, and control the situation.

If you're not in there, let Super G barrel his way through. It's 20 seconds of your time.

I was left lane going through. TaxAir was right lane going left. Technically we were both in the appropriate starting lanes for off tracking. There simply isn't enough room on this particular roundabout for 2 semi tractors to safely navigate side by side regardless of what they say.

Nothing is confusing Skallagrime, we were both entering same time, packed in traffic but i found it funny that the State DOT website didn't have an easy to find rule for aforementioned two truck round-a-bout scenario.

I know the right/safe thing to do but was curious of the legality was all if something unfortunate was to happen.
