In 7 years I have seen probably like two trailers with mud flaps at the tandems and then a set at the dot bumper. And I noticed all of these trailers had super singles. Either way looks funky for one and two a waste of mudflaps
Only thing I have heard and am aware of is it it can't be any higher than 6" off the ground other wise it beats the purpose lol
Mud flaps must be at the rear of the trailer

SC does not require mud flaps and they don't require oversize permits up to 12' wide if it is construction related.
Certain states allow 2' overhang at the rear, others 4'.
Used to be, before daytime running lights, some states would fine you for turning off your headlights, others for turning them on - though these were rare instances.12 ga Thanks this. -

We just went through an audit and an inspection of 5 of our trucks by FMCSA. Not the state DOT guys but the feds themselves. Now they were only inspecting the tractors and he specifically pointed out that it is a good idea to have mudflaps but they did not care as there was no FEDERAL regulation requiring them. He did state that most states do require them however.
