Just how often should motor mounts need to be replaced?
Our truck was just in for PM and a couple of other maintenance items, and the mechanic said that the front motor mount/s need to be replaced.
This was suppose to have been done a bit over 6 months ago, right after the inframe was done. This was all prior to our purchasing the truck.
We are going to ask the carrier we are buying the truck from to look over the records to see IF it was actually done, or which one/s was/were done.

Yep, front mounts should almost be good for the life of a engine. Rear mounts go a little quicker, but you are still looking at years of life span, not months. I bet you were charged, or told they were replaced, but actually they weren't.

I had to replace the front mount on my Columbia with a Mercedes at 800 thousand miles.

2007 Columbia, LH motor mount on a Mercedes 450 cautioned on last MVI, 832,000km....replaced it while they had it...

The Century/ Columbia or late Classic chassis has a "known issue" with rear engine mounts. I had one done for an MVI and the both done when I had the clutch done. Shops local to me always do them as part of a clutch job.
I never understand when people refer to the Mercedes as "crappy" To me it's been 8 years of awesomeness. -
I think it's a state of mind, either stuck with it wanting big power or those that haven't even driven one. I like mine...*knock wood*
