With the latest update, they force all the permissions required for an eld on you regardless of just using it as a paper logbook.
Guess its back to physical paper for me.

Out of curiosity, what permissions?
-
Precise Location data permission
Full unfettered background battery access, ie there is NO turning it off even if you dont think its on.
Yes, silly of me to think its actually my phone.
Worst of all, thats the last app that even remotely properly allowed "paper" logging. (On android, drivers daily log apparently works on ipad, if its still up)
I have a 95, and a 98. I am not obligated to use an eld, so im not going to be throwing away money on hardware and a subscription I dont have to use.
Its no surprise to me, anything i liked in motive constantly got stripped back from the beginning of me using it
I find it odd that no one actually has a simple app that works as just a paper logbook though. -
Nostalgic Thanks this.

Starting to cancel Motive today. Called Motive and lady sent me a form to fill out. Lady waiting for me to fill out then said someone would call me to “ finish request “ About 5 minutes later Nigel calls and says can I ask you a few questions, sure I responded. Why do you want to cancel ? I said “cost “ he says he will refer me to someone else to do that. I tell him the First Lady I said 4 times I wanted to cancel and now I have told him twice and now I will get another call ? He said the First Lady sent a email saying I was requesting additional services. I am thinking this is normal response to a cancel notification. So I clicked on this part of Truckers Report low and behold others have issues with them.

They are exceptionally aggressive about getting your money and dont think if you had paid a 1 time fee that they didnt turn it into a subscription -

They were pretty good at the start and easy to use. Much better than the Qualcom i believe.
Since they changed their name and added cameras and a tattletale speed sensor along with who knows what the platform has gone to pot
That and the company I was leased to ran their company terminals by the book.
Commission terminals run around us in circles because the office people are able to cook their books. Safety don't seem to care either. -
The drive line has to be initiated by driving period, and can't be edited later. You also can't change PC or yard move to the drive line later.
Driving has to be on one of the three or you can claim it later, by accepting an edit proposed by Motive.
Conflicting driving events are what makes it hard, you can't accept them or reject them, but these do eventually go away, too.
And they do shut you off if someone didn't pay for the service.Flat Earth Trucker and mpow66m Thank this.
