I recently bought a freight liner fld flattop with intentions of putting it to work hauling oilfield water in nd/mt as its what i have been doing for a while now. but having some second thoughts of what to do with it considering the ups and downs of the oil field although id like to stay in the oil money trying to think of ways to remain as versatile as possible, to insure steady work. as a wide variety of things can be loaded on a flatbed both oil feild related and non im thinking flatbed might be the answer. most flats you see moving in the oil field are hauling pipe and fly ash as well as a lesser number of equipment loads from what i can see on the roads. most pipe and fly ash loads seem to be loaded regular flats both standard tandems and spreads. you see a few trucks hauling pipe with step decks and pipe racks biult to level out the load. i have seen a couple fly ash loads on lowboys and really could be loaded on about any type of flat as well as pipe probably could be with the right pipe racks. although lowboys would present a challenge getting in and out of locations and well sites.
My question is what is the easiest flatbed setup to get loads for both oil field related and and non oilfield related
most versatile flatbed setups for oilfield and non-oilfield
