    Monte Cristo Mexican Restaurant, just north of the former North 40 truck stop now a One Nine fuel stop will be on the left when going north on US641.

    Ample truck parking and very good, quick, and inexpensive Mexican fare. Usually keep these hidden gems to myself but good food on the road is hard to find anymore.

    Street tacos look pretty good under that mountain of cilantro maybe carne asada?

    You know what, I bet it's pretty good compared to everything else we have as options out here. Thanks for the heads up.

    Look, I love me some good grub south of the border. I tell you what, if those boys would toast that tortilla before rolling the burrito maaaaaan they would take it to the next level.

    You know what's really good too when you catch it: al pastor with chunks of fresh pineapple... classic.

    Or when they really make their own red sauce and use that for the Spanish rice or charro beans over refry or use the right cheese for rellenos or birria or...

    I got to stop being so fat

    I know….i get a little to excited over food as well. I’m a huge fan of Taco Bueno but some people can’t stand it.

    Of there was a genuine Mexican joint and a Tex Mex restaurant next door to each other….I’d goto the Tex Mex place.

    This guys tacos are 4 inch but packed pretty tight with the meat and extras. Chips were fresh as well.
