Mode trans out of Jacksonville area is telling me that they are having the carriers move these loads going North East for about a dollar a mile and Ryan told me that there are others who are offering the same at even less $.87/mile . Here is my question, if it costs about $1.53/mile to operate a truck and on top of that northeast is not a good market place but crowded with traffic and tolls, where no one likes to go. He is telling me if the contract rate index is showing $1.87 with Internet Truck stop and another big loadboard then (he says that is wrong and too high) I should change the loadboard. $1.87/mile is not enough to go northeast from anywhere anyway.
Who is haulling for them and why and how can you afford it. Going into FL was about $2.0/mile with Freight Quote. What is the story here, obviously there might be only a hand full of carriers who are some how getting cheap fuel to run this kind of operation if he is telling the truth.

It's a backhaul, maybe you're just not getting enough on the headhaul, do your homework bud and stop worrying about backhaul rates. They will never change.

Why not just refuse the load, instead of posting every low paying load on here? Many of us don't really care.
