I had one plus a small micro straped to it. The frig was nice as it can be turned down to keep things frozen.

I have a crappy coller it eorks but afraid to eat any foods out of it after a 4or 5 days because it tends to loose temp at times usually when its hot and Im not running truck

Its not right for these ccompanys to treat there drivers the way they do they should all have APUs and refringerators and microwaves for their drivers if they are otr drivers

I so cant wait to go local in a few months ai run for the biggest company and the cheapest Swift

Ya they have about 20, 000 trucks but treat thier drivers like ####

Easy there scarface, your putting ideas that work in a unlikely place to work. And that would be in a purchase managers mind. Many things would make our lives out here a little bit easier if they would put things like that in....but guess they have better things to buy....like chrome....:biggrin_25513: lol

Do you have inverters? What size?

Did you buy it or did the company provide it?

I had a 1000w inverter in my truck and it would run the frig and the micro at the same time. The company I worked for did not supply inverters but would install one if you got one. I'm thinking most companies dont supply them either.

I have one of the small electric coolers. Problem with APU's is they add about 400 lbs to the truck if not more. With TMC most of our loads are in the 46 to 48K range. I have even been heavier. Load planners use 48 for a good basis. Some of the Pete's, if you add 400-600 lbs, will blow the 32K the truck can weigh. Then you have to start playing the fuel game. and only being able to use pilot/Flying J. You could be hung out for fuel. Would love the APU but I understand why they don't have them in all the trucks.
