I live in the central nys area, not far from utica, and was wondering if anyone knew much about alnye trucking. They are headquartered out of moravia ny and have terminals in cortland and utica. They haul fuel and milk, and i would be interested about info on running either with them. Any other info on other companies running tankers around here would be appreciated as well.

ARG is the largest petroleum hauler in NY state. I drive for them out of the Tonawanda terminal. They also have a milk division listed under their parent company Wadhams Enterprises out of Phelps NY. I believe they run milk all over the state and parts of PA. The pay is equal to other companies and after a year or two without any driver problems you will be making between 50,000 and 60,000 per year. Which isn't bad for upstate. Good luck.

I've talked to drivers from both and they seemed happy. I know Wadhams drivers put in some LONG days when you figure in wash out time. Pay wise IDK, Alyne seems to have a slight edge on nicer looking equipment but that could just be looks.

I see Alnye around here a good bit hauling fuel out of the tank farm in Vestal. Equal number of Wadhams/ARG rigs around also. I had looked into hauling milk with them a few years back, but they weren't really hiring at the time and as such couldn't really be less interested in talking to me.

I worked for wadhams for about three months, wouldnt have minded running on arg or even their milk division butbeing where i live i couldnt get in a daycab without at least an hour drive to work, and being so unimpressed with the way their rist division is run i hightailed it out of there quick. As for wadhams overall though ill say they still seem like they treat their drivers fair.

I don't think there's any CNY dry van/reefer outfit I'd even bother applying to. Have heard unpleasant things about RIST/Howard's Express, Emerson, Leonard's, and absolutely terrible things about Superior. Tankers, on the other hand...have heard good things about Wadhams, Alnye, and in particular, Terpening.

Their main location is in Syracuse somewhere, but they've got a satellite in the Buckeye terminal in Vestal with 4-5 trucks. Not sure if there are any besides that. I do know they run a lot of ethanol out of the Port of Albany to various locations...all their trucks in Vestal have sleepers.

I had family that worked there, and a standing invitation to go there if I got my hazmat...but I haven't bit the bullet and gone for that endorsement yet.

Yeah honestly im looking to get out of the sleeper and be home every night and also not haul a van trailer. Tankers seem to be the best way to go. Always figured gas haulers made more than milk drivers too.

I'm pretty sure their sleepers don't get used much...I mostly see them in/around Broome/Tioga/Chenango counties delivering to gas stations. Not sure I'd really appreciate stuffing a triaxle tanker and a sleeper T800 into some of those in-town gas stations, but hey, it seems to work for them.
