So a broker we run for sometimes called us today and asked us if we would be willing to haul to military bases in California. We told him we have a beagle dog that travels with us and asked if dogs allowed on bases, broker is not sure so he will call us tomorrow with answer. Just wondering if any of you pet owners have brought your dog along to military bases or is that a no no?

You could call any base commercial gate and ask , they are all pretty uniform with the rules.

Not all bases/military installations are the same. Some do and some dont. You'd have to check with each base individually.

I’ve been to multiple military bases from different branches and my dog was never a question. If they wanted to look in truck I just take the dog out and move away and let them look.

I remember back when company drivers a port in Texas would not allow us to have the dog. Our dispatcher knew we had our dog with us but didn’t think it would be an issue but it was so he found us a different load to pick up. But that’s the only time we’ve have an issue but we’ve never deliver to a military base either so I guess we see what broker says on Monday.

If it's the base in Herlong, they allowed us to bring the dog on base in the past.

Looks like you are a team operation. Even if dogs are not allowed, one of you can just wait on the parking lot by the gate until truck is unloaded
