any one reccomend michelin tires? I have never used them. I had the chance to buy 4 yesterday. they were 11r 22.5 xze I got them for $200.00 each. new virgin tires. one of the shp mgrs at mgriff tire called me with the offer.he told me they usually go for close to $ 500.00 each. the tires were never mounted. he said a customer had owed them a big bill & could not pay it so the customer brought everything from his shop to settle some of his debt & mgriff could not sell as new. I grabbed them. I usually pay $ 300.00 a piece for dynatrac or other china made for my trailer.I will need tires for my trailer in a couple months. I can't find info on this type tire on the net, are they all position, steer or drive? I was in a hurry when I picked them up I did'nt even ask, was on a load & just threw then on the back of trailer & strapped down & took off.

$200 is a great deal! Michelin tires are top of the line tires. Some driver say their steers are the best money can buy. I did run the XDA's on my drives and they wore out fast. (only 60,000 miles) I think they were the wrong tires for my application. I run local and regional bulk heavy haul. I think on an OTR truck they would have lasted a lot longer. Snow traction was not good either but just the wrong tire for me. Michelins are still great tires. I usually run General/Continential tires and have great luck with them. They last very well and get good winter traction. They are little less money than a Michelin but still an expensive tire. I think if you stop buying cheep China or Japan tires and pay more for good tries you would be further a head. The off brands are not worth the lower buying price. Buy Michelins, Generals, Continentals, Bridgestones, Firestones. Never had good luck with Goodyears though.

If they are the tires I'm thinking, I had them on my trailer when I bought it new. They are 16ply but michelin is a soft tire so they squat bad. With 120lbs of air in them they still squated worse than my 14ply bridgestones. Other than that they are a great tire. I got 2 1/2 years out of them hauling heavy and legal.

you could also check the build date... next to the DOT letters. should be 4 digits. first 2 are the week and 2nd 2 are the year. still a good deal though.

a word of warning on michlin tires, if you ever have a problem with them don,t expect them to honor their warranty,

I bought 2 steer tires 2.5 years ago went about 3000 miles and one of them blew out.

I took it to a dealer and they would not even look at it, called Michelin and have got the run around for over 2 years, I finally tracked down a field rep and he looked at it and "allowed" me 200 bucks for it.

that was in april and I am still waiting for the money which I am sure I will never get.

I have a new tire shop I deal with and they just laugh when I mention michelin and warranty in the same sentence.

it is an obvious factory defect but michelin could care less.

i ran michelin's exclusively but after finding out that their warrenty s worthless i wil never buy another,
they are nothing more than another POS company taking advantage of the O/O's

xda is long distance highway tyre

you neeg e or u series instead of A

    i live in europe

and some of our trucks have michelin tyres they are probably the best tires .....

    we have construction trucks

    and on one 4axle tipper truck (2front steer 2rear drive 2+2) is a 8x4

have michelin on/off road on 3rd axle and continental regional on 4th

michelin is now in far better condition (
usually on the third axle tires more quickly expended) during turning narrow crossing narrow entrance to the courtyard.....spining the wheels on soft terrain

    they are 315/80r22.5

other truck have 4x2 drive formula and 295/80r22.5 continental

We are quite pleased with them but an empty truck no traction

next truck have continental for off road only this truck works in hard
    stonepit (315/80r22.5) still good

    slightly damaged by stone 6x4

his trailer have michelin 425/65r22.5 they are in good condition

another truck have michelin off road tyre 13r22.5 L series tyre

    michelin said for that tyre
Specially designed for civil or military vehicles
that drive on all terrains and require maximum mobility
    MICHELIN Off road

The mobility range for extreme conditions

    [IMG][IMG]

and they are in exelent condition trailer have same as other trailer

my dad love them for the road also
